Help Autistic Children Charity Golf Day
Hankley Common Golf Club
Wednesday 10th May 2023

Sadly this year's Golf Day is CANCELLED

This year we have decided that Challengers will benefit from funds raised from the HAC Golf Day.

Disabled children and young people are frequently excluded from leisure and social activities, with The Disabled Children’s Partnership recently finding that over 90% of disabled children are socially isolated.

Opportunities to play and socialise are not a luxury, but a fundamental right that is being denied to so many disabled young people, adversely impacting their social, emotional and physical development and heightening their risk of social isolation and loneliness.

Any funds that we give to this marvellous scheme will provide fun, friendship and happiness to all children, regardless of their needs or impairments.

So with that said, I hope that you can pull together a team and come along and have a great day out at Hankley.

We look forward to seeing you

FULL DETAILS & REGISTRATION FORM

The Help Autistic Children Charity Golf Day 2019 is to be held at Hankley Common Golf Club on Wednesday 8th May.

As parents and volunteers Support 19 could see the growing gap in services offered to these young people. Support 19 aims to enable young adults to reach their full potential within the wider society and develop self-esteem and increase their independence. Access to a mini-bus will encourage them to play an active and full role in the local community.

The young adults to benefit from the transport have moderate to severe learning difficulties and are aged between 19 and 30.

Same venue, same format – and an even better day?

I invite you to enter a team for the 2019 event. We are limited to 22 teams of four players and would appreciate return of your entry form as soon as possible to secure your place.

The format is a Stableford competition, with three scores from four to count. (Max Handicap 18 men, 24 ladies) As well as the main team prizes, there will be individual prizes for nearest the pin on the par 3’s and for the “straightest” drive.

Bacon rolls will be available from 07.45 and play will commence at 09.00 – with a shotgun start.

Lunch will commence at approximately 14:30, the meal will be followed by a charity auction and prize giving. [please note jacket and tie required for lunch].

So…. what to do next

The entrance fee is £500 per team. This covers all green fees and meal costs and provides for the sponsorship of a hole. If you want your advertising banner to be displayed on the tee, please note this on your entry form below. We hope that you will enter a team this year and help us to continue our support for our autistic young adults.

Please submit the form below and either post your cheque for £500 made payable to “Help Autistic Children”

What It's Really Like For Parents...

It is generally a lonely life being the parent of a profoundly autistic child. The roller coaster of emotions one goes through from the initial gut instinct that something isn’t quite right all the way through to the diagnosis is exhausting and even then the really huge step is yet to come – in the actual acceptance that your life and that of your child will never be quite what you thought it would be!

Help Autistic Children, originally set up to assist families like ours, has been a life line to me. Being part of the charity has given me strength to continue when at times I have just wanted to give up. With your help we have been able to reach out to families who at times have been on the brink of giving up too. Some have been so close to having to hand their children over to others because the pressure is just too much. HAC has stepped in and offered funding for essential respite for parents, replacement computers for the children obsessed with screens and gaming, ipads for those children who can only communicate using the picture exchange system, specialist activity weekends and so much more.

With your support we have been able to do these things – but there is still more to do. The number of autistic children is ever increasing and therefore even if we wanted to stop … we better not!!!

Thank you so much from all of us you have supported over the years xx
